Former Oxford, Rotherham Scunthorpe and Stockport defender Raynes (27) has agreed a one-year deal with the Blues after spending the second half of last season with Mansfield, where he played just 10 games.

Curle said: “He’s a big, solid central defender who knows the level and the game.

Target man Oliver (23) joined Stags on loan from Crewe last October and ended up joint Stags top scorer with seven goals.

He began his career with Sheffield Wednesday from 2002 before leaving a decade later and joining Conference side Lincoln City. There he netted 13 goals in 43 appearances, which saw League One Crewe pay an undisclosed fee for his services at the end of the season.

Oliver then spent two years at Gresty Road, making a total of 42 appearances.

Earlier today Stags announced that Liam Hearn has left to join Lincoln City while Rakish Bingham had gone to Hartlepool United.
