Mansfield Town closing in on duo with potential

Mansfield Town boss Adam Murray said he was hoping to be able to announce a couple more new signings by the end of the week.

Murray, who has already brought in four new faces this summer, has two of his lesser experienced targets ready to sign, and also deals for at least four experienced ones all but agreed.

“We have lots of things on the boil,” he said. “I am hoping by the end of the week the signings of a couple of players with a lot of potential will be complete.

“Signing the experienced ones is taking a bit longer as everyone is after them. Having said that we are quite far down the line with some of them and virtually there with four of them. It’s just dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s.”

He added: “There is a lot of work going on behind the scenes, putting in the new structure of how we are going to play and a new coaching syllabus put in place.

“At the moment, most of the staff, myself, Richard Cooper and John Dempster are finishing our A licences at St George’s Park.”
