MANSFIELD TOWN boss Paul Cox says the pressure is on Fleetwood Town to progress through to the FA Cup with Budweiser First Round Proper.
Stags face the Cod Army at Highbury Stadium tomorrow night in their Fourth Qualifying Round Replay after a 1-1 draw at Field Mill on Saturday, with the victors playing Wycombe Wanderers at home on Saturday 12 November.
And Cox insists the pressure is now on Fleetwood, who currently sit six places above Mansfield in the Blue Square Bet Premier.
“We seem to perform better away from home but we know it’ll be a tough game,” said Cox.
“This group of lads seem to relax a little bit more away from home and play their best stuff away. They’re looking forward to it.
“The pressure is on Fleetwood now. Their fans are expecting them to win and they probably feel as though they have got the job done now. But the tie isn’t over. We’re a different animal away from home.”
Meanwhile, a friendly match has been arranged against Crewe Alexandra on Wednesday, which should see Rhys Day and John Thompson gain another 90 minutes.
Said Cox: “You miss players of their calibre but we have to make sure we don’t rush either of them back too quickly.”
