Mansfield Town boss Paul Cox has confirmed he is interested in adding Macclesfield Town wideman Colin Daniel to his title-chasing squad.
Stags are currently in talks with The Silkmen over Daniel, who has played more than 130 times for the Cheshire club.
Daniel, a left winger who can fill in at left-back, is a player Cox knows very well having sold him to Crewe during his time as Eastwood Town boss.
Said Cox: “It is no secret that we have spoken to Macclesfield regarding him and how much the fee would be.
“I know him personally from his time at Eastwood. He is a great footballer with a lot of ability, but has lost his way a bit recently.
“He can play at left-back and has done so for some of his clubs, but we would be bringing him here as a forward player. He is good going forward and has got good pace and delivery.
“He would be a positive addition to our squad, but at the moment he is a Macclesfield Town player.”
Macclesfield, who were relegated into the Blue Square Premier last season, will entertain Stags at Moss Rose on 25th September.
