Luke Thomas represents Mansfield Town on charity cycle ride to Amsterdamn

The brother of Mansfield Town midfielder Jack Thomas is set to represent the Stags this weekend by taking part in the Football League’s cycle challenge from London to Amsterdam in aid of Prostate Cancer.

This Friday, Luke Thomas (pictured), will set off on a 145-mile ride from Brisbane Road, the home of Leyton Orient.

He will then cycle towards Harwich, where an overnight ferry will take him and riders from other League clubs to the Hook of Holland. The final leg of the journey will lead them to the iconic Amsterdam ArenA.

Luke is hoping to raise in excess of £1,200 for Prostate Cancer UK, the League’s official charity.

He said: “It’s a really worthwhile cause which needs further awareness.

He added: “Jack’s told me to make it there in one piece and not to fall off, he’s very helpful!”

Last year, Doug Carroll, the man who acted as furry mascot Sammy the Stag for 13 years, completed the challenge along with the club’s head of media & communications Mark Stevenson.
