How did YOU rate the Mansfield Town players in Bury defeat?

Stags performance overall – 5/10 – Made Bury work hard for their win and a better result than recent meetings, but it was a downturn from their recent impressive form and a lack of chances created made this an afternoon to quickly forget.

STAGS PLAYER BY PLAYER

Lenny Pidgeley 6 – Quiet afternoon for the Stags keeper with just one flying save to make. Had no chance with the goal. Otherwise handled well.

Lee Beevers 7 – Had a steady game defensively and tried to get forward when he could. Tried a shot from distance but too high. Could not be accused of any lack of application on the day.

Martin Riley 6 – Steady and had a better game than some of the fans felt on social media, but an ill-advised tweet by him calling those fans ‘clueless’ won’t help get them on his side.

Ryan Tafazolli 5 – One of his shakiest displays in a Mansfield shirt. Almost let Bury in for a goal in the opening minute and never really seemed to recover.

Callum Elder 6 – Certainly one of the players who should be spared Murray’s criticism, but he was unable to make much impact going forward.

Ricky Ravenhill 5 – Never really got hold of the midfield on his home patch and was guilty of the needless foul that conceded the free kick which set up Bury’s goal. Took a booking for the team on the hour to halt a Bury break.

Reggie Lambe 5 – Drifted around but made little impact on the day and failed to put away Mansfield’s best chance from six yards in the second half.

Chris Clements 7 – Stags’ best hope of carving Bury open, he was the pick of the home midfield and had a good effort deflect just wide in the second half.

Jack Thomas 6 – Needs to stop getting booked almost every time he goes out there. Energetic as always but struggled to replicate earlier displays where he stroked the ball around. Almost levelled out of the blue with a long range shot that bounced in front of goal.

Junior Brown 6 – A surprise inclusion after hurting a hamstring seven days before, but far from his creative best on the day.

Vadaine Oliver 6 – Gave his all for the cause, but it was a thankless task in the first half on his own. Did come close on a couple of occasions in the second half after the side went 4-4-2, but he has had better afternoons.
