ALAN Marriott reminded everyone why he is one of the best goalkeepers at BSBP level with an accomplished show as Stags picked up an excellent point at Grimsby Town last night.
Marriott was the busier of the two keepers on a freezing East coast night at Blundell Park, making some excellent saves in a very open game.
Stags also had their moments and might have gone home with maximum points had Matt Green not allowed home keeper James McKeown to make a stop when through one-on-one in the first half.
For Mansfield it was a fifth successive game without defeat at a ground where they have lost five of their last six visits and not won since 1987. It was also an extension of an impressive unbeaten away league record that goes back to August, losing only their first one at Gateshead so far.
