Godfrey Poku joins Alfreton Town on loan from Mansfield Town whilst Ross Atkins is recalled by Derby County

Alfreton Town manager Nicky Law has strengthened his squad by bringing in former Luton Town and Southport midfield man Godfrey Poku (pictured) on loan to the end of the season from Mansfield Town.

He began his career with St Albans City in the 2009/10 season before moving to Luton Town where he made 19 appearances.

Whilst at St Albans he attracted interest from Swansea City and also had trials with Reading, Leyton Orient and Southend United.

He was loaned back to St Albans for a month and then on to Southport for the 2011/12 season where he made 22 appearances.

After joining Mansfield Town in 2012, he went back out on loan to Southport where he made 32 appearances in the 2012/13 campaign.

Poku (23) will be with the Reds until April 27th inclusive and will wear squad number 23.

Goalkeeper Ross Atkins has been recalled early from his season-long loan with Alfreton Town by parent club Derby County.

Atkins, made 26 appearances in all competitions for the Reds, keeping two clean sheets in the league.

An injury in the Derbyshire Senior Cup game forced him out of the side and he has been unable to regain his place due to the outstanding form of replacement Jon Worsnop.

Atkins is no longer registered with Alfreton Town Football Club.
