Funeral date set for Stags super-fan Chris Taylor
The funeral service of Mansfield Town super-fan Chris Taylor will be held at St Andrew’s Church Skegby at 1.45pm on Friday, 17th April followed by a wake in the Sandy Pate Bar at One Call Stadium.
Fans attending are asked to wear Stags shirts and scarves.
Mansfield Town plan to stage a minute’s applause before Monday’s home game with Shrewsbury Town to honour Chris, of Shirebrook,who passed away last weekend, aged 54.
He ran independent Stags away travel for many years before handing over the reins to the Stags’ Supporters’ Association 13 years ago and, despite ill health, has continued to support his beloved Stags whenever possible.
Chris died at King’s Mill Hospital with wife Beverley and family by his bedside.
