Speaking upon signing for the Stags after a successful trial towards the end of last season, Rose was pleased to become part of the club’s plans moving forward: “I’m happy to be here for the future to help the team push on to reach good things for next season.

“The gaffer [Adam Murray] and I had some positive conversations from my first few training sessions and they wanted to immediately get me into a reserves’ match to see what I was like.

“I had to be patient, bide my time and perform well when the opportunities were granted to me and I’ve thankfully been rewarded with a contract.

“I knew I had to be ruthless. As a young player you have to take your chances so I had to make sure I was the best player in training and in the games.

After developing a reputation as a versatile contributor, Rose is happy to play in whatever position Adam Murray feels will benefit the team: “I’ve been able to play in a number of positions including midfield, right-back and centre-back on occasions but I’m here to help the team move forward.

“I’m always looking to improve my game in all areas because I think that is key for my development and contributing to the team.”
