Brian Jensen 7 – Had little to do but pulled off his only major save with aplomb with a superb tip-over after only two minutes and stayed strong and commanding all night.

Nicky Hunt 7 – Highly influential return at right back, defended well and got forward often to join in with attacks. Took another almighty clattering with a late tackle.

Krystian Pearce 9 – Simply outstanding. Even when he was beaten to the ball he was able to rob his opponent and tidy up.

Ryan Tafazolli 8 – Another towering display crowned by a goal. What a partnership this is starting to be. Made a great block just before the break from a goalbound shot.

Mal Benning 7 – Like Hunt, defended well but offered lots going forward too.

Craig Westcarr 7 – Unlucky not to end the night with a goal, having a first half effort saved and then electing to be unselfish on a second half break and setting up Jack Thomas’ goal for him.

Jamie McGuire 8 – A superb return to the team. He was energetic, aggressive and very vocal, screaming at players around him and helping organise at every turn.

Jack Thomas 9 – This was more like it from last year’s Player of the Season. Having shaken a fair amount of rust off last Saturday, Thomas was buzzing everywhere and took his goal well.

Adam Chapman 7 – With McGuire alongside him, Chapman was able to get forward more than recently and link up the attacks, trying to get Green away down the channels too.

Reggie Lambe 7 – Again a much livelier display than of late for the winger whom Adam Murray felt would benefit from a recent two weeks out the starting line-up.

Matt Green 7 – Green got through so much running and hard work as the lone striker which ultimately helped gain his side victory. But, for a born goalscorer it will be of little consolation on a night when a goal eluded him again.

SUBS
Collins (for Westcarr 89mins) 6 – Sent on to shore things up but didn’t have to much to do in the few minutes he was on.

Beardsley (for Green 90+1mins) – Got a bigger cheer from his old fans than most of his ex-team mates did all night as he came on for a late cameo in stoppage time.
