It has been a big week for Mansfield Town following the FA Cup defeat at Oldham and Saturday’s win to end a run of five games without a goal.

Even though we went out of the cup, on another day it could have been a lot different.

Before the game kicked off on Saturday we got news from Adam Murray that captain Nicky hunt will be out for two months after picking up an injury in training.

Get well soon Nicky and we want a goal from you when you are back.

On Saturday fortunes finally changed in front of goal as we deservedly beat Hartlepool United 3-1.

This was a win that made me feel like someone is going to get a huge thrashing from us one game.

As we all knew if Greeny got one goal they would come along like the number two bus and that they did.

Well done Greeny and I think me as well as all other stags fans was relieved it finally happened.

Nathan Thomas deserves a special mention for his man-of-the-match display.

He was absolutely phenomenal and showed some of the best crosses and beating of a man since Wayne Corden in my eyes.

The other game changer for me when he came on was Adi Yussuf whose wonder goal as well as his all round play was brilliant.

Adam Chapman and Chris Clements shone, but it was just a very good team display.

It is now a massive game on Tuesday and we need to follow up the big win Saturday with another to put down our intent to stay in the play-off positions and higher.

If we play at our best I can’t see many teams being able to handle us this season.
