Bradford’s former Forest striker Rodney joins Stags on loan

STAGS’ BOSS Paul Cox this morning added Bradford City forward Nialle Rodney to his squad on a one month loan deal.

The 20-year-old, who came on three times from the bench for the Nottingham Forest first team after seven years at the club before a surprise release in the summer, becomes Cox’s second signing in three days, with two more fresh faces expected to arrive this afternoon.

The 6ft 1in front man has previously enjoyed loan spells at Ilkeston, Burton Albion and more recently Darlington.

Upon meeting the local media this morning, Rodney said: “I’ll be hoping to get games, goals and minutes under my belt during this loan period. I’m really excited to come to this club.

“I know Kieron (Freeman) and Lindon (Meikle) so it’s good to come to a club with familiar faces. Kieron spoke really well of the club and that made decision to come even easier.”
