AFC Wimbledon vs Mansfield Town: Injury news, how to watch, H2H record, League One form

Mansfield Town will fight for their first away win of the season against AFC Wimbledon this evening.

Tonight’s occasion is a special one, as Nigel Clough will set a new record for the most league games managed at Mansfield Town. The meeting with Wimbledon will mark his 275th game, one more than club legend Ian Greaves.

Stags will hope to mark the milestone with a win but Clough himself has highlighted the difference between his team’s performances at home and on the road.

Stags remain unbeaten at the One Call Stadium but have picked up just one away point so far, and the Dons are a tough opponent on paper, as they are also yet to lose on home soil. Here’s everything you need to know ahead of tonight’s kick-off.

AFC Wimbledon vs Mansfield Town kick-off time

Wimbledon and Stags will kick-off at the Cherry Red Records Stadium at 7.45pm BST this evening.

Latest injury news

Clough said in his pre-match press conference that Stags will have the ‘same sort of numbers’ available as last time out against Oxford United.

Luke Bolton missed the clash against the U’s with a calf knock but could return to action this evening. The manager confirmed he would be assessed during Monday’s training.

“He got a kick on his calf during training the Tuesday before. It was a no-risk sort of thing, especially with the history with his calf, but it was only a kick. It was one of those where he blocked a shot, he came out within 30 seconds of it happening, so no point risking him.”

Lucas Akins and Baily Cargill are both unavailable with hamstring injuries and David McGoldrick is also not yet ready to return to action.

Owen Dodgson has now served his three-match suspension and will be available for selection.

Meanwhile, AFC Wimbledon will be without centre-back duo Isaac Ogundere and Dan Sweeney.

How to watch AFC Wimbledon vs Mansfield Town

Supporters will be able to watch tonight’s match live via Sky Sports+, which is available on both TV and live stream.

AFC Wimbledon vs Mansfield Town League One form and H2H record

The two sides have both collected 12 points so far this season but Wimbledon have played a game extra.

Stags have won three, drawn three and lost three so far, while the Dons have a similar record, but with an extra defeat on the board. Both teams have won just one of their last five.

Like Mansfield Town, Johnnie Jackson’s side are unbeaten at home and won’t be willing to give that streak up without a fight tonight. With this in mind, Stags will have work to do, as they have picked up just one point on the road this season and have conceded ten goals along the way.

It will be a case of who blinks first, as nothing could separate the two sides when they met last season. The first meeting finished 0-0, followed by a 2-2 draw at the One Call Stadium. Jon Russell scored both goals for Stags.

These two have met just 12 times in their history and Mansfield Town have been the most successful in that time. Stags have won five, drawn five and lost two when faced with AFC Wimbledon over the years.
