And Stags boss Nigel Clough believes that re-charging the batteries will be the best way to help get his squad prepared.

Saturday's 2-1 win at Forest Green Rovers - Town's first league win of the campaign - was the side's ninth game in four weeks.

And although new boss Clough is still getting to know his players, he wants to allow them to recuperate and overcome any niggles before the hard work begins again in preparation for the contest at One Call Stadium (KO 7pm).

Speaking after Saturday's win he was asked how he was preparing to face the U's.

"Rest," he replied. "Certainly for the lads that have played.

"It's been pretty much the same lads, same players for the last four or five games apart from Tuesday night (an EFL Trophy win at Scunthorpe United), so they'll need some rest.
