Mansfield Town to be without key player for Bradford in latest injury news update
The latest news on Mansfield Town’s squad fitness ahead of their clash with Bradford City this weekend.
Stags have seen the return of some key players from injury over the last week but fresh concerns have reared their heads following the Reading game.

While the likes of David McGoldrick and Tyler Roberts have returned to the squad, Mansfield Town saw three new injuries impact their team selection in Berkshire.
Liam Roberts (foot) and Jon Russell (hamstring) were both unavailable against the Royals, meaning Harry Lewis started in goal and Nathan Moriah-Welsh was shifted into central midfield.
A late change was also made when Stephen McLaughlin was withdrawn from the bench after picking up an ankle issue during the warm-up.
Nigel Clough said on Wednesday that the Bradford game would be too early for Russell and the club’s latest injury update has confirmed he will indeed be unavailable this weekend.
Stags will certainly miss Russell and what he brings to the team’s attack, especially after contributing two goals and an assist against Luton.
Meanwhile, both Liam Roberts and McLaughlin’s fitness levels will be assessed ahead of Saturday. Roberts ended up needing stitches in his foot after he was fouled by Luton’s Gideon Kodua on Sunday.
Two players still yet to feature this season are Baily Cargill and Jordan Bowery. Cargill is expected to return from a hamstring injury after the international break, while Bowery ‘will continue to be assessed’.
Alongside McGoldrick and Tyler Roberts, Luke Bolton has also returned to first team action. He was named on the bench against Luton Town and played his first minutes since March in a cameo appearance. Bolton also came on as a substitute against Reading as he continues to get minutes under his belt his season.
