Mansfield Town set up Forest friendly for Mellis

Suspended Mansfield Town midfielder Jacob Mellis will top up his fitness in a specially arranged game tomorrow.

Mellis completes his three game ban this weekend and manager David Flitcroft said: “We have planned a game on Thursday at Forest.

“It’s been designed so Jacob Mellis can play which gets him some game time and we might have a couple of the younger players there.

“Gibbo may get 75 minutes in that and Jordan Graham may play as well.”

Mellis was banned by the FA following an investigation into the infamous pre-season friendly brawl with Sheffield Wednesday.

He will be back available again for Tuesday night’s visit of Oldham Athletic.
