The 23-year-old made 21 appearances for the Stags in midfield and defensive positions last season following his signing from Ipswich Town, but found himself one of six players transfer-listed at the end of the campaign.

“Paul has been a pleasure to work with on a daily basis and a great professional,” said manager David Flitcroft.

“He had asked me to pledge that I would give him game-time this season which I was unable to do. He will, however, get that opportunity now with Forest Green Rovers.

“Paul was brought to the club as a midfield player, and I do see him as a midfield player, but with us bringing in the experienced Neal Bishop during the close season, we’re very competitive in that area.”

“I wish Paul every success in his future career.”

Stags now just have Calum Butcher, Paul Anderson and the injured Zander Diamond on the for sale list, though have also had bids for strikers Lee Angol and Danny Rose.
