Mansfield Town progress tipped to crash as Supercomputer makes shock 2026/27 League One prediction

A new Supercomputer prediction has forecast the final standings table for the 2026/27 League One season.

The fixtures for this coming season have been confirmed and predictions are already being thrown about when it comes to the title race, promotion chase, and relegation scrap.

Mansfield Town are looking to build on their impressive end to last season, which saw them finish tenth despite previously fighting to put daylight between themselves and the bottom four.

Stags’ historic finish marked their best in almost 40 years and has sparked debate regarding whether the next step in their ladder is the play-offs. However, an early Supercomputer take has churned out a predicted running order of the 2026/27 season standings, and a further step up for Stags is not on its cards.

The forecast, conducted by Parimatch, is made by estimating the outcome of each fixture, based on factors including player quality, manager quality, historical trends, 2025/26 form and other variables. A level of randomness is also added to ensure upsets and surprise results occur.

The table is ordered after every possible game is simulated 10,000 times, providing an average to determine the final positions. See below where Mansfield Town have been predicted to finish ahead of the season’s start.
