High-flying Carlisle United are the visitors tomorrow (3pm) as Stags look to build on an unbeaten start which has seen them only win once and then draw four in a row.

“It will feel like a good start if we win on Saturday. But could be better,” he said.

“We’ve twice been in positions where we were ahead and should have seen those games out. We have to learn that quick.

“We can’t keep throwing points away. I know it’s a 46-game season but you don’t want to get to the end of the season and say ‘if only this or if only that’. “We’ve got to demand from each other – that’s the only way we’re going to kick on.

“Once you get your nose in front in this league it’s important to see out games.”

Bishop is looking forward to playing in front of the nosy home faithful again and believes Carlisle may come out and play more than Colchester did in the last home outing.

“I have only played here a few game but the supporters have been really good, which we do appreciate,” he said.

“We have seen teams try to shut up shop here, but Carlisle have won three on the bounce and might come out a bit more which might suit us with the players we have going forward.

“It’s a game we should be relishing.”
