Mansfield Town latest injury news ahead of Reading after Luton Town fitness boost
Mansfield Town's injury list has improved since last week, as players returned to action against Luton Town on Sunday.
As Stags prepare to take on Reading this evening, there are now only three fitness concerns of note as the weekend brought some positive news.
Prior to their 5-2 win over Luton, Mansfield had a growing injury list and were looking at potentially being without a further two key players as well. Frazer Blake-Tracy and Liam Thompson were deemed unlikely to feature against the Hatters but both were named in the match-day squad and got minutes in the bank, with Thompson starting and Blake-Tracy coming off the bench.
David McGoldrick was also named among the substitutes and made his first League One appearance for Stags. The summer signing was ruled out of the League One opener against Doncaster Rovers and missed the Peterborough clash as well. The striker came off the bench against Luton Town, replacing Jon Russell just before the 70-minute mark.

Fans also got to see Luke Bolton return, who hadn’t featured for Mansfield since March.
All of those who returned against Luton are expected to be fit to face Reading, with no mention of any being re-injured. No new fitness concerned have emerged either from the club in their update for this evening’s game.
Mansfield Town will still be without Baily Cargill, who is recovering from a hamstring injury. He is expected to return to first team action after the international break. Jordan Bowery is also unavailable due to injury but no return estimate has been provided.
Tyler Roberts, who missed Doncaster and Peterborough alongside McGoldrick, is still having his match fitness assessed.
