Mansfield Town Ladies crowned East Midlands Women's Regional League Cup champions to do the double
Mansfield Town Ladies have claimed their second trophy of the month after being crowned East Midlands Women’s Regional League Cup champions.
Andi Bell’s side saw off the competition to lift their second trophy of the month when they faced Loughborough Foxes in the East Midlands Women’s Regional League Cup final on Sunday.

It was a tight affair held at Arnold Town FC’s Eagle Valley, which saw Mansfield Town edge the fixture 1-0. Millie Mellors scored the only goal of the match in the first half and the Yellows held on to see out the victory. Player of the Season Amy Price started in between the sticks and enjoyed another clean sheet for her successful campaign. She joined fellow goalkeeper Liam Roberts in scooping their teams’ respective POTS honours at the end of season awards earlier this month.
Mansfield Town booked their place in the East Midlands Women’s Regional League Cup final after a dominant win over Ashfordby Amateurs LFC in the semis. Bell’s side won 6-0 at RH Academy as Mellors starred with a brace, accompanied by goals from Ainsley Allan, Shannon Purdy, Katie Platts and an own goal to round off a successful home clash to set up the final against Loughborough Foxes.
Sunday’s victorious outing made Mansfield Town double Cup champions this season, having also won the Nottinghamshire FA Women’s County Cup earlier this month. Bell’s side retained their title with a similar 1-0 win against Notts County Women Reserves. Olivia Standeven’s goal proved the difference as the girls in amber and blue enjoyed a triumphant day at the One Call Stadium.
