Mansfield Town keeping eye on progress of Max Dickov at Tranmere

Mansfield Town will keep a close eye on the progress of forward Max Dickov after allowing him to go out on loan to League Two Tranmere Rovers on Monday.

The 23-year-old had made four starts in League One for the Stags and 10 substitute appearances this season as well as outings in the Emirates FA Cup, Carabao Cup and Vertu Trophy, but opportunities for him had become increasingly limited.

“It was a last minute thing for Max on Monday, but it's a brilliant opportunity for him,” said manager Nigel Clough.

“When he first came in he did really well, then sort of levelled off a bit, which is always the way with young players when they first come in.

“He had a couple of opportunities but he needs to go out and play some football and this is a good level for him to go and play at.

“We will keep an eye on him and make a decision at the end of the season.”
