Mansfield Town keeper Liam Roberts nominated for October’s Sky Bet League One Player of the Month Award
Mansfield Town goalkeeper Liam Roberts is among the October nominations for the Sky Bet League One Player of the Month Award.
A summer signing from Millwall, Roberts conceded just two goals in four games in October with the timing of his contributions as vital as his commanding presence.

A brilliant fingertip save and penalty stop underpinned a win at Luton before he preserved a home win over Plymouth.
He is up against Leyton Orient striker Dom Ballard, Bolton Wanderers winger Amario Cozier-Duberry and Stockport County midfielder Ollie Norwood.
Ballard, 20, bought to replace the departed Charlie Kelman, has brought his work ethic, energy, smile and finishing ability to Orient.
His four goals in as many games included a hat-trick against Doncaster and a sublime curler at Cardiff.
At Bolton, not only is the 20-year-old Cozier-Duberry a precocious talent, but he possesses the uncanny knack of showing it at the perfect time for his team.
As well as two assists, his two goals were perfectly struck injury-time winners against Huddersfield and Cardiff.
Completing the quartet, after a season acclimatising to the physical demands of League One, Norwood’s quality is shining through this campaign, controlling games with his intelligent positioning and passing. He added a goal and an assist to help Stockport move top.
The judging panel for the Sky Bet Player of the Month comprises Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman, EFL Chief Executive Trevor Birch and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies - the winner will be announced on Friday.
