Mansfield Town duo hit club milestones in latest League One appearances
Stephen McLaughlin and Liam Roberts reached appearance milestones for Mansfield Town over the weekend.
The Stags duo were both named in Nigel Clough’s starting line-up to take on Peterborough United on Saturday.

Roberts, who recently signed a new two-year contract with Mansfield, made his 50th appearance since joining the club last year. McLaughlin marked 250 games as a Stags player, having first arrived at the One Call Stadium back in September 2020.
Mansfield signed McLaughlin on an initial short-term deal and he has since continued to extend his stay with the club. He enjoyed playing his part in Nigel Clough’s famous promotion-winning side in 2024, making 25 League Two appearances after returning from a lengthy knee injury.
Both McLaughlin and Roberts are key figures in this Mansfield Town side and missed just nine games between them throughout the entire 2025/26 season.
Roberts picked up multiple Player of the Year awards at the end of last season, which was his debut stint in amber and blue. He signed for Stags last summer after being released by Millwall.
Unfortunately, the Stags duo weren’t able to celebrate their appearance milestones with a win as their trip to Peterborough was a disappointing one. Clough and co were sent home empty-handed after Posh snagged all three points with a wounding stoppage time goal.
Harry Leonard cancelled out Michael Smith’s equaliser in the third minute of injury time to secure Peterborough’s first league win of the season.
Focus for Mansfield Town now turns to their home game against Luton Town this weekend. The Hatters are currently third in the League One table with four points on the board from a win and draw so far. Only Bradford City have won both of their first two fixtures this season.
