Mansfield Town boss backing Colchester United to be League Two's surprise package
Mansfield Town boss David Flitcroft believes Colchester United could be a surprise League two title challenger this season.
For the second year in a row, Stags are among the favourites to go up and Flitcroft said: “I get the promotion favourites tag but nobody had Accrington as a promotion favourite last season, and look at the work they did with an honesty and an authenticity.
“I think Lincoln City will be up there, Notts County again too, and Colchester could be a surprise package.
“There are four or five teams that will be challenging and we certainly want to be one of them. That’s my ambition and the players’ ambition.”
