The coronavirus outbreak had already seen the EFL season suspended until 4th April – just over two weeks away.
But, with the virus no reaching its peak yet and cases continuing to mount, it was announced today that all games in England's Premier League, EFL, Women's Super League and Women's Championship, and all fixtures in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, are now postponed until 30th April.

Hide AdThat will now also see Stags' home clashes with Macclesfield Town, Exeter City and Crawley Town postponed along with trips to Stevenage and Scunthorpe – which takes us to the end of the current campaign.
The Football Association has agreed that the current season can be extended indefinitely as under current rules it had been scheduled to end on 1st June.
A joint statement issued today by the FA, Premier League and EFL expressed 'a commitment to finding ways of resuming the 2019/20 season' and completing all domestic and European matches 'as soon as it is safe and possible to do so'.
The postponement of Euro 2020 to next year gives better chance for domestic league fixtures to take place in June.

Hide AdBut the UK government has effectively banned sports events for now by advising against mass gatherings and there is still the possibility the rest of the season could be played behind closed doors if restrictions are not lifted in time.
