Shirebrook Town claimed local bragging rights after a 3-1 win at Ollerton Town.
Sam Dockwray’s second-half strike, smashing a shot across the keeper and into the bottom corner, capped a fine individual performance for the visitors, who went eighth.
But Ollerton, who started well and then fought back from conceding two goals in three minutes midway through the first half, had chances to claim at least a NCEL Division One draw.
Josh Bowkett hammered Ollerton back into contention three minutes before the break after a fine move also involving Tom Moody, Sean Dickinson and Gav King. In the second period Bowkett hit the bar from 30 yards.
But the damage had been done when Joe Cheeseman headed in a 24th minute corner and Declan Brewin quickly converted a one-on-one chance for Shirebrook.
