Manager Micky Taylor labelled Clipstone’s 4-0 win at Gedling Miners’ Welfare as their most “complete performance of the season”.

He added: “We took all our chances. Julian (Topliss) is doing really well with his goals and assists.

Topliss scored twice as the Cobras moved up to fifth in the East Midlands Counties League.

Stevie Sowter headed home a fine ball in from Topliss in the eighth minute.

The goal provider then turned scorer. Topliss fired in a free kick from 20 yards in the 27th minute and added a third nine minuts later.

His long-range free kick was tipped on to the bar in the second half and Ethan Wiesztort twice went close before Connor Nowaczyk fired his first for the club.
