League One sack race: How safe each manager's job is deemed so far, including Leicester City, Reading and Sheffield Wednesday

A ‘managerial pressure meter’ has listed each head coach in League One and whether their job is considered at risk this season.

The 2026/27 season has already delivered surprise results and we can expect to see plenty more as this league continues to show just how competitive it is.

OLBG’s ‘managerial pressure meter’ has ranked all 24 managers in League One based on how much pressure they are under this season and suggested how likely they are to be sacked if things do not go to plan.

The pressure score is calculated by a mathematical formula using weighted pillars that contribute to the final percentage, including overall league position vs pre-season expectation, recent form, squad investment efficiency (or return on investment) and external pressure on each manager.

Those with bigger goals to reach this season naturally rank higher when it comes to pressure but performances can even that out. Nigel Clough’s position as Mansfield Town manager has been deemed one of the safest positions to be in this season.

Let’s take a look at how each head coach has been ranked based on the pressure they are under.
