“But we are not going to get carried away. The gaffer expects this on a regular basis.
“The key thing is we approach training this week with the same mentality and not just think everything is okay.
“We want to push our standards, remain committed and keep the motivation high to go and try and get more wins between now and the end of the season.

“We also made one or two changes on the day which helps competition for places within the group.
“Overall, it was a good day. But it's only one day and we'd like some more.”
He added: “We are now settling down into the choice of system we're playing.”

“We are also seeing, especially on Saturday, the team digging in and fitness levels improving in being able to see out a game.
“They are all small improvements but improvements that will hopefully add up to something much better.
