“We were excellent in the first half, controlled the game for good parts and scored a well deserved goal,” he said.

“We deserved to lead at half-time so it is a bit of a blow to come out at the end with nothing.

“We think Mansfield’s second goal was offside. We are giving away soft goals at the moment and nothing goes for you when you are at the bottom of the league. You have to earn everything you get.

“Then we had a chance to equalise from the penalty spot, it went wide and they go up the other end and score. It was a double blow really.

“But the lads were outstanding there. We came back into the game again, Jamie (Cureton) gets a goal, they go down to 10, Chambers has a chance and we threw everything at them. But that’s the way it is going at the moment.

“It’s getting to the situation now where we have got to win games. If we perform like that and everyone stays together and believes, we will turn it around.”
