In-form Jordan Bowery is calling on Mansfield Town to take the game to Salford City tomorrow night.

The Stags got off to a lightning start in their 4-0 victory over Port Vale on Saturday, skipper Ollie Clarke netting after just 45 seconds.

Bowery - who added the other three goals to claim his first career hat-trick - wants Town to put the Ammies under similar pressure at One Call Stadium.

"It's a big thing in football, getting that early goal," he said.

"It deflates them and gets them on the back foot. We just pushed on from there and it was a great victory.

"We should be full of confidence now and going into Tuesday hoping for the win.

"Salford are different opponents but we'll attack it the same way we did (against Port Vale)."

Bowery - who has now scored five times in the past three games - wants to maintain his form in front of goal against Salford.

He added: "I'm glad I'm playing a part in the team.

"At the start of the season I wasn't playing my best football. I'll hold my hands up and say I wasn't very good, but now I feel I'm contributing more.

"I'm working hard and the gaffer's got a lot out of us. It's benefitted me and I feel I can be a threat."

Tomorrow's League Two contest kicks off at 7pm.
