I enjoyed watching Mansfield’s performance tonight said triumphant Peterborough boss Luke Williams
Peterborough United boss Luke Williams admitted he had enjoyed watching Mansfield Town's performance tonight as they tore his side to shreds but paid the price for not putting those chances away as Posh triumphed 2-1.
It was an end to the Stags' nine game unbeaten run as Jimmy Jay-Morgan and Harry Leonard netted against the run of play in 13 second half minutes before George Abbott pulled one back near the end.
“I thought the opposition were brilliant tonight and, as awful as it was for us, I enjoyed watching them,” said Williams.
“They played like a very mature side, very exciting with so many attacking options.

“But I think they suffered when they lost Baily Cargill as I thought he was exceptional tonight.
“To stand up to that and for the players to then have the composure when their moments came to score a coupleof goals was brilliant.
“We scored a lot of goals on Saturday but tonight I got to see them with the boot on the other foot and they were happy to soak up a lot of pressure and, to a man, put their bodies on the line.
“I was pleased to see that as, if a team is to be succesful, it has to have depth of character and strength in bad moments.”
He added: “This is a tough place to play. Manfield have a really good, experienced team and as good a manager as you will ever find.
“The crowd here are excellent and really vocal and get behind their team, building the pressure.
“Conditions were incredibly tough too. So for them to stand up to all of that, I am really pleased.
“Some of my players have never even been here before so they showed they can rise above.”
