As is often the way this season Warriors responded well to adversity and began to get a foothold in the game.

Connor Smith was a driving force in midfield and slung into the box some very dangerous free-kicks.

Warriors were getting closer and began to get into the attacking third in a much more even contest.

It was a very physical contest and Warriors competed with Long Eaton who responded in kind.

Warriors found their way back into the game after Jack Bradley was fouled in the box. Smith stepped up and slotted his efficient penalty to the keeper’s left to level.

Warriors grew in confidence in the second half and they caused a lot of problems for Long Eaton, who’s passing game disappeared as Warriors pressed high up the pitch and refused to roll over.

Joe Gillan then nodded home at the far post after good work from Smith and Jude Preece to put Warriors 2-1 ahead.

But Long Eaton came back well and levelled the match with just eight minutes to go after Warriors failed to clear the ball.

In spite of Long Eaton striving for a winner it was the Warriors who would not lie down as they fought without success for a winner.
