Howlers spell defeat for Teversal
Both sides played some good football, and Teversal certainly weren’t disheartened ahead of their big FA Vase tie at Belper United this Sunday. So it was a shame that the 2-0 win for Newark revolved around the mistakes.
The first, according to the home side, was made by the assistant referee, who flagged for a 37th minute penalty to the visitors, even though striker Callum Smith appeared to slip as he was challenged by defender James Travis. Goalkeeper Rio Alberry did well to get his hand to Sam Agar’s powerful spot-kick, but couldn’t prevent it nestling in the net.
