The reborn club had only played – and won - two games in the Central Midlands League Division One North when Covid 19 halted the action.

Now they face a hectic couple of months with another 12 games to fit in by the end of May with Sheffield FC Reserves the first visitors to Hall Corner this coming Saturday.

Chairman Jamie Wajs said:“We have to play our existing fixtures between now and the end of May to conclude the season.

“It is going to be a tough task for the lads after only a couple of training sessions and one friendly.

“Hopefully they have looked after themselves in the downtime period.”

He added: “It has been a frustrating return for the club.

“We have had a lot of added, extra challenges along the way that no one could have expected.

“But, all in all, we are back playing so that is a positive and we get to finish our season while other local clubs have seen their seasons curtailed.

"We can get some games in and then plan again for next season.”

It is expected fans will be allowed back through the turnstiles in mid-May and Wajs said: “That will be another big positive.

“It will be nice to get some home games in and we can build on the numbers that attended previous games.

“We've had some groundhoppers there and there will be a few more in the pipeline who have been in touch with us.

"Hopefully we'll get some healthy figures attending.”

Glapwell lost 2-1 at Bakewell in their friendly last Wednesday while their Development Squad lost 4-2 away at Sunnyhill FC in the MRA's end of season cup on Saturday.

Both Glapwell goals came from striker Oli Marshall while central midfield Stephen Barnett picked up man of the match.

The club’s U14s were also in action on Saturday morning at Hall Corner where they were beaten 4-3 in a thriller with Chesterfield Junior Blues.
