Glapwell made a slow start to the game and, despite an early chance for Josh Parfitt, who was denied by home keeper Steve Wibberley, the home side went in front when Danny Rhodes beat the offside trap and lifted the ball over Ryan Hopkins from the edge of the area.

Glapwell did have chances before the break as Parfitt saw his effort crash out off the crossbar while Dave Fedrick’s effort curled just wide, but up the other end Tom Walker really should have doubled Harworth’s lead only to shoot straight at Ryan Hopkins.

Glapwell were much better after the break, though, and Tom Robley and Nathan Whitehead were both denied by Wibberley before James Whitfield brilliantly fired Glapwell level when he flicked the ball over two defenders before smashing the ball inside the far post.

From that point on, there seemed only one winner and Jordan Jones dragged an effort wide before Josh Parfitt and Whitfield were denied by the impressive Wibberley.

Then Parfitt fired just inches wide, but they couldn’t get the second goal they needed to claim the victory.

Before the end, both sides were reduced to 10 men when Harworth’s David Cornthwaite and Glapwell’s Jason Foster saw red.
