The club returned to Hall Corner for the 2020/21 season four years after they folded.

The idea was put together by the Chairman Jamie Wajs and Secretary Simon Bannister, who approached the parish Council and groundsman with their ideas to bring a football club back to the community, but this time to have kids' teams as well.

“We have had a great start in what we're trying to achieve,” said Turner.

“I believe that this is a club going places. It's a club a lot of managers would struggle to turn down at this level.

“I share the same ambitions as everyone else at the club in saying we want to be able to be back playing at step 6 again and making sure we can have kids' teams that filter into the men's teams so that they know the values of the club from a young age.

“We are trying to play a brand of football that we hope is the way our first team and the young kids' teams will play for a long time.

“That is to be brave on the ball, play out from the back but, most of all, play with enjoyment and smiles on faces.”

But Turner knows the club must keep getting community support to make it all possible.

He added: “We've managed to get the place up and running again and smartened it up by the work put in over the summer.

“However to be able to achieve what we want, we really need the clubhouse back up and running which will be used not only by the club - but also by the Glapwell public, as we want this to be a community club."
