Four-goal Phillips helps Ravenshead to 11-goal rout

Jordan Phillips’ razor sharp finishing resulted in a personal tally of four goals against Trent Vineyard in an 11-0 MAA Premier Division thrashing by Ravenshead, whose other marksmen were Jordan Fichna with a hat-trick, Sean Creer-Thornton with a double and solitary strikes from Adam Martin and substitute Steve Cox.

Another side with their shooting boots on were FC Coopers who doubled their wins to two thanks to an 8-2 victory over a Kirkby Athletic side which is still looking for its first point. Daniel Morgan was a hat-trick hero for the victors with Adam Thomas netting a double and Luke Dabell, Kyle Davis and Omar Wilson completing the tally whilst Jack Jewsbury and Ryan Stafford replied for Athletic.

The same scoreline was achieved by Old Elizabethans in their victory against AFC Farnsfield when both Tom Blaney and Callum Wilkinson netted hat-tricks with George Simpson and Adam Sipson completing the scoring.

Runaway leaders AS Plant United were held to 1-1 at half-time in their match against a Rainworth Rangers outfit who are still rebuilding from last season.

However they netted two second half goals to ensure a 3-1 victory with Chris Walker netting a double whilst Jonathan Bullock’s effort was answered by Reece Burridge for Rangers.

Meanwhile Oliver Watson’s solitary goal for Southwell City III proved insufficient to prevent a 2-1 defeat at the hands of third placed Woodborough United.

A goal from Conor Scott 20 minutes from the end of their Notts FA Intermediate Cup tie with Kirton Brickworks enabled Bestwood MWSC to join holders Old Elizabethans in the last 16 of the Competition.

In Division One Old Elizabethans II matched their seniors by claiming an 8-2 victory in their match with Alvaston United when James Prentice plundered six goals whilst a Tom King strike and an own goal made up the total to which Nathan Cossey replied twice for United.

Another side amongst the goals was Sutton Travellers who trounced Steelers 7-1 with Malcolm Semenytych netting their consolation goal.

Derbyshire Amateurs slipped two places from the runners-up spot after Bradley Scard’s goal was answered by Bridon AFC, who lie a place below them at fifth.

Goals from Kieran Gubbins, Dan Armstrong and Callum Barrett saw Magdala Amateurs Reserves through to a 3-1 victory over Bilborough United Reserves.

Nathan Mills’s double for an understrength Sunnydale failed to prevent a 5-2 defeat against Wollaton III, who moved up to second place in the table behind AFC South Wingfield 93.

The leaders retain a nine point advantage thanks to their 4-1 defeat of a young Southwell City IV side who have yet to claim a victory.

A Jay Miles hat-trick, together with a Chris Evans goal for Wingfield, was answered by Chris Lacey.

Old Bemrosians claimed their first victory of the season in a best-of-five-goals tussle with Ashfield FC, who were hit by goals from Brett Fox, Dec Whelan and Geoff Byrne after leading 2-1 at half-time thanks to goals from Craig Appleby and Trevor Hannant.
