Former Mansfield Town striker Joe Gardner could be set for loan move to Oldham Athletic

The Nottingham Forest striker spent last season on loan at Stags and scored just once during that time.

He’s now rumoured to be in discussion with the League Two promotion hopefuls over a season-long move to Boundary Park, (Football insider).

The Latics have already signalled their intentions for the season ahead of signing promotion winner Ollie Norburn from Notts County on a one-year contract.

Oldham finished last season in tenth after a poor end to the campaign cost them a shot at the play-offs.
