Former Manchester United goalkeeper Roy Carroll has signed a one-year contract with Notts County.
Carroll has been issued the number one jersey and is set to make his competitive debut for the Magpies in the Sky Bet League 1 2014/15 season opener against Preston North End at Deepdale on Saturday.
The 36-year-old, who has been capped 35 times for Northern Ireland, brings a wealth of experience to the squad having made more than 400 professional appearances throughout his career, which has also included stints with Hull City, Wigan Athletic, Derby County, Rangers and West Ham.
Carroll has impressed County fans with his two pre-season displays, against FC Halifax Town and CA Osasuna, and the news that he was set to sign was hugely welcomed at the club’s open day.
