Farrend Rawson knows Mansfield Town can get better and better

Mansfield Town defender Farrend Rawson says there's a huge desire in the squad to get better and better.

Stags kicked off their League Two campaign with a solid 0-0 draw at home to Tranmere Rovers.

It left Rawson full of encouragement and belief that Mansfield are heading in the right direction as they look to finally win promotion from League Two.

“We want to keep improving and driving on to be better and better,” he said.

“We have got a great set of lads and a brilliant team spirit. We are working well together and we will keep working to improve.

“We all understand our positions and we're willing to work and learn. Hopefully we can keep on learning, improving and pushing in the right direction.

“We've all worked really hard and are pushing each other towards the ultimate goal. We're all really fit, ready to go and we're hungry."

“There is a lot more to come from the club and it is exciting times ahead.

“There is great ambition from everyone at the club, but the main thing is we have a really good team spirit and we want to work hard and out our bodies on the line.

“We want to put in good performances for ourselves, the fans and manager..

“We'll continue to keep working as hard as we can and getting points on the table.”

Stags travel to a Leyton Orient side at the weekend who began their season with victory at Oldham.

And Rawson expects a tough time in the capital as Mansfield look to get their win column up and running.

“They have had a good start and it is going to be a tough place to go,” Rawson added.

“There are never any easy games in this league. They will test us and we will have to go there and be strong.

“It is all about us ad how we approach the game. We want to build on Saturday and push on. “We have got a lot of quality in our team and the bench.We are just pushing to get things right and keep working hard.

“We will give it our all to win on saturday.

“We're working hard and really looking forward to the game. Hopefully the fans that are watching us can be impressed with what they see.”
