Eyley collects third treble in Magpies’ rout of Aspley

Cath Eyley bagged her third hat-trick of the season as Notts County’s Senior Development Squad Reserves notched a 10-0 victory against a spirited Aspley in the Notts Ladies League.The visitors battled hard with only ten players but where always up against it once Jade Sheppard opened the scoring with a trademark strike following a great pass from Eyley.Provider turned scorer after Jessie Knott battled hard in midfield and then Eyley popped up again to supply Katrina Bloomer, who scored with a header.To round off the half, Lauren Wilson won the ball well to feed Ashleigh Harris and she blasted in at the near post.As Jade Zoe Benniston and Sammie Barlow worked tirelessly to sweep up in defence and set up goals, Eyley scored a screamer two yards in from the corner flag and then Barlow set her up for her treble. Eyley then put a cross in for Ellie Marriott to score with a brilliant looping header.Nicola Tomkinson kept it tidy at the back, along with keeper Chelsea Taylor, while it was another defender, player of the match Rhiannon Middleton, who played in Bloomer for a second goal.It was 9-0 when Barlow set up Carolanne Young for a cool strike into the bottom corner and then Marriott’s well-flighted corner enabled Charley MacLaren to give her dad a great birthday present with a headed goal that completed the rout.
