The 25-year-old becomes Adam Murray’s third signing of the summer following the arrival of striker Danny Rose and defender George Taft.

Hemmings, a former England youth international, made 80 Football League appearances during a two-year spell with the Daggers, before leaving the club following their relegation last season.

The 5ft 8in winger came through the ranks at Wolverhampton Wanderers and made his debut for his boyhood club in a 1-1 draw with Barnsley on the day Wolves won promotion to the Premier League in 2009.

Whilst with Wolves, Hemmings enjoyed loan spells at Cheltenham Town, Torquay United and Plymouth Argyle before signing a permanent deal for Walsall in 2012.

Hemmings made over 60 appearances for the Saddlers before leaving the Bescot Stadium at the end of the 2013/14 season to join Dagenham where he became a mainstay of their side during his two-year stint with the East London club.

After putting pen-to-paper at One Call Stadium this afternoon, Hemmings said he was ‘really excited’ to join Adam Murray’s side.

“I just wanted to come to a team that’s got its winning ways and carry on from last season and push even further this year,” Hemmings said.

“I came and met the gaffer and a couple more of the staff before I went on holiday and they sold me the club straight away - they made me feel good.

“When I went away, it was always on my mind that I wanted to get back and sign,” Hemmings added.

The deal is subject to Football League approval and will run from 01 July 2016.
