Doncaster Rovers receive big fitness boost for key player ahead of Mansfield Town clash
Grant McCann has provided a significant Doncaster Rovers fitness boost ahead of their meeting with Mansfield Town.
The two sides will lock horns on Good Friday in a bid to add more points to their tally to secure their safety in League One. Rovers are currently just one point above Stags in the table ahead of their clash. Both teams are part of the group of clubs packed closely together towards the bottom of the table, with just seven points separating Peterborough United in 12th from Exeter City in 21st.
Rovers will host Stags at the Eco-Power Stadium on Friday, hoping to bank a six-pointer result over their opponents. Their previous clash at the One Call Stadium ended in a 2-1 win for McCann’s side, thanks to a brace from the influential Owen Bailey, who has 12 goals to his name so far this season.
Another key player will be available for Rovers’ selection this week, McCann has confirmed. Luke Molyneux, who has eight goals and seven assists in League One, is back from a hamstring injury and available to face Stags.

“It's good to have Mols back. When he's on form he's probably – in my opinion – the best wide player in this division. It's nice to see him back out there,” McCann confirmed in his pre-match press conference.
“Billy Sharp is probably the only one that will miss the game tomorrow but everyone else is fit. Hopefully it's sooner rather than later, that we can get him back.”
Stags are currently on 49 points in the League One table, while Doncaster are slightly ahead on 50. A win for Clough’s side could see them leapfrog more than just Rovers over the weekend, depending on how other results around them unfold. Four teams are currently ahead of Stags by just one point, while Leyton Orient are a place below them but tied on points.
