The sides will meet at One Call Stadium on Tuesday, 14th August and Flitcroft smiled: “It’s just mad how things happen isn’t it? Accrington will probably be improved from last season.

“It wasn’t just about getting promoted, it was doing it so well.

“They didn’t just crawl out the league, they absolutely blitzed the league in the last part and fully deserved to get promoted.

“They will come here with a bounce. They have got good players and a fantastic manager and assistant.

“It’s funny how things work out. But it gives us an opportunity to try to correct that wrong.”
