“The only positive is that we will get better,” he said. “We have had a good start to the season but two poor performances have cost us.

“The players need to stand up and be braver and play. They need to not be afraid of making mistakes and we need to implement a winning mentality through the side.

“We want a win at all costs mentality. If we play attractive and win it’s a bonus, but at the moment we are not doing either

“We have to knuckle down and grind some results out the hard way. We have plenty to put right and I am sure we will.”

Hoole also backed his players to climb the table if they can find a consistent level of performance.

“We have got 5-6 players who have not been playing with each other for more than 4-5 weeks,” he added.

“We are bringing in new players to keep it freshened up and we will get better.

“If we get the performances right we move on, climb the table and be a threat.

“On paper the players we have are good enough to beat anyone in the leagu. Iit is down to me, the coaching staff and players to prove that.

“We will work hard to put it right.

"The performance is very important to us at the moment, especially with how we are trying to improve the club and the style of football we have brought here.”
