Colley starts with a defeat as Shirebrook lose to Ollerton

The Karl Colley era as Shirebrook Town manager got off to bad bad start in a 2-1 defeat at home to Ollerton Town.

The game couldn’t have stated better for Shirebrook as they took the lead in the fifth-minute when Jonathon Hill was played in one-on-one with the Ollerton keeper and made no mistake to give Shirebrook the perfect start.

The visitors then began to push forward and tested Dennison in the Shirebrook net. They got there reward in the 38th-minute when Lewis Bingham broke down the left and his dinked cross was headed in by Josh Dodd to level the scores.

It was the visitors who went into the break in the lead when on the stroke of half-time Kyle Ludlow’s shot was saved by Dennison but Ludlow was first to the rebound to give the Ollerton the lead.

Ollerton were awarded a penalty early in to the second half but Bingham put the spot kick over the bar to give Shirebrook a big let off.

The visitors dominated most of the second half with Shirebrook struggling to get out there own 18-yard box.

But with ten minutes to go Shirebrook were awarded a free-kick and Hill put his header inches wide of the post. With minutes to go Hill was again played in and having rounded the keeper hit the side netting with his shot and the visitors saw out the remaining minutes of the game to claim all three points.
