After relegation from the UCL Premier North last season, Selston sit second bottom of Division One with only one win from their first 12 games.

But Weston said all he needs is some experience to help his talented youngsters blossom and has targeted a top 10 finish after the return of Moore from a year at Heanor Town.

“So one of our main objectives now is to get a bit more experience in to help and guide them.

“Ben is a massive player for us. He has been there and done it with us and has a presence about him that is so valuable to us.

“He will bring everything good out of the other players. He is one who I trust as a player and part of the whole set up.

“He will be fighting for our corner. So I am over the moon getting him back at the club. He will definitely kick us on and make us a much better unit altogether.

“He still has plenty of football left in his legs.

“He has been playing regularly at Heanor. But he knows Selston is his club.

“He just made a decision that he felt it was the right time to come back and help us do good things here. He is on board and up for the challenge. He knows everything about the club and wants to get us back to where we need to be.

“We will definitely stay up without a doubt. I want to be minimum mid-table and even looking to push on from there – top 10 or whatever.”

He continued: “It is a new dawn here really after relegation last season.

“We tried our very best to stay up but it proved a step too far which was really frustrating for myself and everyone at the club.

“But I knew it was going to be a tough task when I took the job and slowly I have gone for a younger and more mobile side and a side full of players I can work with and build something that will get us up the league and challenge.

“It won't be an overnight job. It is a long term project.

“I know it's still early doors and we haven't got off to the best of starts, but I am still really excited about what we are doing.

“We lost some players after relegation and one or two of them I wasn't too bothered about.

“We had one or two absentees through holidays and things like that at the start of this season and we played one or two really good sides who are up there pushing for promotion. It's not been the easiest of starts. But we will definitely just kick on from here.
